Under the Tuscan Sun

As most of you know I am not only an interior decorator but I'm also a travel blogger. From time to time I will share a glimpse of what I think is an amazing travel destination. I have been home a couple of weeks now but I still can't seem to shake my latest trip to Tuscany from my mind.

I will say that Tuscany has many destinations within it that are a must to see, especially Florence, but today I am just focusing on the soul of Tuscany, the Chianti Region. It's hard to really get a feel for the Tuscan landscape without having a rental car. The best way to experience it's winding roads, hilltop towns, and it's wineries is to drive it. Take care, however, because the roads are not the best and especially take care if you have stopped by a winery or two. The people are gracious and always willing to assist you with any information you need. A GPS device is a must for navigating throughout the region. The vineyards seem endless but the memories you make will be too! Arrivederci.

Carriage Riding Through Vienna

Vienna is a city that has such beautiful buildings and architecture that you want to have an idea of how to best tour this Austrian jewel. We discovered on our trip there in June, the ideal way is to do it princess-style in your own carriage.

Hop-on hop-off bus tours, trams, and just walking are all ways to get around Vienna but quite honestly, the best way is to let the horses and their guide take you through the cobblestone streets of this magnificent city. Yes, to hear the clip-clop of horses on the cobblestone is such a soothing sound but it's the fantastic guides that make your experience so enjoyable. Their route steers you under the dome where the Spanish riding school houses the Lipizzaner Stallions and takes you past the famous Vienna Opera House. It is the tour guide's stories of the city and all the interesting back streets that you navigate down that makes this carriage ride a must.
