Gather 'Round

Who doesn't love a long, wooden dining room table that the whole family can gather around? The show Fixer Upper has really highlighted the Modern Farmhouse style and one of the major staples of that look is a beautiful farmhouse dining table.

The warm tones of the rustic woods used in a farmhouse table really set the tone for the whole design of the room. One of the great features of a dining table like this is that you dress it up or keep it casual. For a really comfortable look, add some wood back chairs or a long rustic bench. If you want a more refined look, use linen slipcovered chairs and put an amazing chandelier above with a little bling. You can’t go wrong adding some patterned plates or an amazing centerpiece to finish off your farmhouse dining room.

Seeing Double

I love to design things a bit differently than most. I like to think outside the box and create a classic look for my clients. Honestly, it depends totally on the space or the vibe I am trying to achieve in the room. One thing is for sure though... I love twin light fixtures!

The diameter of the fixture in relation to the room, table, or island is obviously important. The scale definitely has to be appropriate for the space. Once the practical considerations are taken then it's all about shopping for the right chandeliers, oversized pendants, lanterns or whatever you love. Use online sources and check out visual boards on Pinterest or Houzz to see if you get inspired to take on this lighting project.  I think you will be thrilled with the result.
