Vibrant Vanities

Out with the old and in with the new is our Spring time motto. Why not use this opportunity to make a bold new color decision?

A bathroom vanity is the perfect place to add a bright new color to your home. Different shades of blue can translate into many styles of homes. Turquoises can be coastal when you add shiplap around them. Moodier blues can transition well into homes that already have a lot of classic touches. Which ever shade of blue you choose will add personality and interest to your home. Use the vibrant colors of spring to inspire you for your next home renovation project.

Move over grey because you are about to get a little competition. Although I truly believe that grey is here to stay, it's nice to have a little competition. Whether it's kitchen cabinets or bathroom cabinetry, indigo blues and moody blues are really starting to make a statement in the design world. You will also see shades of red and burgundy popping up as well. I love using these colors as strong accent colors keeping the majority of my backdrops neutral. I will confess, however, I just bought a beautiful blue couch for my living room.

Paint it Blue

If you have been perusing your catalogs lately or have dropped by your local Pottery Barn store you have probably picked up on the fact that Blue is everywhere. I'm blogging today to give you permission to take Blue one step further.

Are you a Blue person?? Is it hanging in your closet? Are there pillows of Indigo on your couch? Well you might just be the best candidate to consider painting some of your trim work a beautiful shade of Blue. It could be a door, a fireplace mantel, a freestanding or built-in bookshelf... the sky (that is the blue sky) is the limit. In today's design world you see many people painting their French doors black... why not a Moody Blue? I would love for you to send me a pix of any blue projects you are working on. I'm considering one myself!
