The Outer Banks is the hidden gem of the Carolina beaches. This string of islands spans 200 miles along the coast and is the perfect getaway for your next vacation.
There is so much to see and do here during your stay. There are many beautiful rental cottages along the beach shores or you can choose to stay on the Sound side. The beach is always popular with people paddle boarding, surfing, or just soaking in the suns rays. There are so many great restaurants all over the OBX. One of my personal favorite lunch spots is the Black Pelican Restaurant which was the site of the United States Lifesaving Station and was constructed in 1874. If you enjoy water sports, visit Nor’Banks Sailing to rent jet skis and sail boats. If you want a little exercise, you can walk up the 220 steps to get to the top of the Currituck Lighthouse. There are also many beautiful piers that you can fish off of. The Outer Banks has something for everyone and has been my families vacation spot since the 1940’s. Enjoy your stay in the OBX!
