Sometimes in design we are so consumed with shopping for furniture or choosing paint colors that we leave behind one of the most important design elements in the room, your lighting. Chandeliers have the unique ability to make an incredible design statement in your space giving the room not only light but also a distinct element of style.
Choosing the scale of your statement piece is also very important to consider when purchasing a chandelier. To size a chandelier as the focal point of any other space than a dining room…. Measure the length and width of a room and add those figures together. The sum of those two numbers is the appropriate recommended diameter of your chandelier. In the dining room, chandeliers should hang 60” – 66” above the floor and should have a diameter of ½ to 2/3 the width of your dining room table.
Designing with statement chandeliers can really take an ordinary space and make it EXTRAORDINARY.
