When I work with my clients, one thing they often have a hard time with is telling me their style. The funny thing is that most of us do not have a defined style. We like aspects of many different styles and tailor those looks to our home. This style is usually defined as eclectic. One accessory that works beautifully into that look is a blue and white ginger jar.
Of course it has it's roots in a chinoiserie look but I find that good design has just a touch of chinoiserie in it. It was the Parisians that made chinoiserie so popular. Today, ginger jars come in many different sizes, are more affordable, and can be found from many different sources. One of my first jars came from Wisteria but I have also picked them up at antique markets and even Homegoods. You don't have to collect them but consider using one in an unexpected place. It's definitely classic design with a bit of a twist.
